Arrow What Kind And Size Drag Radials?

Okay guys i got some new rims (15x10) That are going on my 95 Camaro Z28, M6, Stock Gears..
First what size tire should i go with? The car is lowered something like 1.8-2Inches..
Im looking at eaither a 275/50/15 (26") Or A 275/60/15 (28"), I like the idea of having i bigger tire in the rear, mainly just for the looks of it...
What tire size do you guys think i should go with?

And Secound Im Leaning Towards Going With The Nitto NT555rs
1. For how long they last
2. Becuase my fronts are gonna be a radial tire
Are there any other tires that would last long or should i stick with the 555r?
Thanks Guys!!!

i have a 02 camaro z28 and i have the nittos on them and i love them...they last a long time and are just all around great peformance tires...if i were you id go with the 275/50/15 because u might have a problem if you go with the bigger tire.

Alright i've been doing some searching and came across the BFG G-Force T/A Drag Radials..
Anyone run these on the street?
Im stuck between the nt555r or these.. I read that the nittos look super skinny and the bfg look wide which i Likey ( In size 275/50/15 )
Anyone know how long the Bfgs's last on the street?
It will be my daily driver but only to and from school which is like 10 miles away..

why are you trying to run too small of a tire? If you wanted to run 275's you should have got 8" wheels. 275/50 or /60 are not intended for use on a 10" wheel. I can't stress this enough. It shortens the life of the tire, looks like ****, and will hinder performance. If you're just trying to cut 1.6 and 1.7 60', then they're ok... but if you actually plan on being quick, they will hurt you. I run a 295/55/60 on a 15x10. MT ET Street Radials, they hook great. This is the smallest tire I would recommend for a 10" wheel. As for your question, BFG drag radials don't last long at all. They hook great on the street, but are terrible at the drag strip.

Try not to fall into the "I run 275/60/15's on a 10" rim and they are fine" crap... you'd be surprised how little people actually know about what's going on with there car lol. Anyone can sit at a keyboard and give advice. I know this sounds a little ironic, but don't (just) listen to people on the internet for advice; go out to your local drag strip and see what people are actually running. Nobody is going to get on here and tell you their setup then admit they made a mistake when they bought it...

i agree.. 275 just seems too small for a 10" rim..

Wow thanks man.. Great info! I was just going to run a 275 becuase I see tons of cars on tech running them on a 10in rim but now that I think about it I was running a 275 on my old 8.5 rim...
Time to find a 295!
Thanks!!

no problem! you'll be happy with a 295. The only thing I've found that I dont like about them is that they hook so well I find myself trying to pull the tires up at every stop light lol.

I had to bump this old thread. Can't run a 275 on a 10 inch rim lol. Radial word records are running in the high 3s at almost 200 on a 15x12 with a 275/60. kind of reminds me of when you couldn't put a big cam in a LS1 because it was the wrong thing to do and now every single person has a big cam LOL
