I am in the market for a Duramax around 06/07. I have been looking at quite a few with 100-180k miles with stickers of 22k-26k. I stumbled across a new site that is suppose to list the dealers bottom dollar (not sure if I can list the name) and I found a 2007.5 (LMM) GMC 2500HD SLE2 for about 26.5k. It only has 59k miles as well. It listed a free carfax report with it and this is what I saw.
Zero accidents, 1 Owner as well.
I've probably looked at 20-30 carfax reports in the last month truck shopping and this is the first time I've ever seen anything other than basic maintenance or a random repair here or there.
The dealers site has the truck listed for 30k, That site listed it at around 26.5k, My limit was 25k but I think I could go over for a truck with 60k miles versus the 15-20 that I've looked at all with over 120k.

Heres a picture of the truck. Looks like 36,995/35,995 is listed on the window and Negotiable is written. Their website says 30k though.

That kinda looks like some illegal activity going on. Say you replaced it and get warranty money even though nothing is replaced. Could just be rough on door handles too though. Its just kinda funny that every time it went in that shop for an oil change at least one door handle was replaced.

Work them off of the deal on the website they will try and bring back those numbers 35,xxx, 36,xxx just tell them to fuck off cause those numbers have nothing to do with what they are advertising it on the website. Looks like a real nice truck good luck with the purchase

FWIW my uncle has had one of the newer GMC Sierras for a few years and has had no door handle problems. I think the only issue he's had was a burned out headlight bulb.

You're exactly right, upon further investigation all of the radio buttons and AC knobs, the paint is worn off. It looks like complete shit. Are there aftermarket replacement knobs and such that have better wear resistance? The rest of the interior looks very nice.

don't worry about the handles, the chrome ones are completely shitty and always break not uncommon to replace all four at once even... although that often does seem to be suspicions.
