Default LT1 killed by a 2V??

Went out to Mexico to run some of my buddies in their mustangs.

The yellow convertible in this video is a 2001 GT, with the 4.6 from a 2003 GT. Heads/cams, longtubes, full exhaust, 3.73 gear, drag radials. He's pretty heavy being a convertible with a bodykit.

My car is the 1995 camaro with bolt-ons, 4.10 gears, and 555 street tires. I recently posted a thread showing the dyno. Puts down 290/323.
The mustang driver has had the car for years, and can drive the **** out of that thing. He got the jump, but I started to real him in after getting into 3rd gear. Less than a 1/4 mile race.

Lt1 killed by traction lol

Nice death

~edit~ Just noticed the mustang had heads an cams....and couldn't pull on you once you had traction. Get some DRs and make him cry!

^Bigbird that's why I like to race him. Once I replace my no2 solenoid I'll have some vids of nitrous passes. We both have 125 wet shots.

Good Lord you are ignorant.

OP you should have some 3.36 gears in. The 4.10s are hurting you.

Here's your explanation. A conv. 4v would be lucky to hit 13's. I consider a modified 2v to be only slightly better than a stock 4v. A bolt-on lt1 should go bottem 13's pretty slick, even high 12's. With all the spinning the lt did and with the jump of the 2v and the lt was reeling him in and may have come around him if they would've run a full 1/4. I still say 2v

Do you know what heads/cams he has OP? Sounds like maybe some ported stockers and VT Stage 1s or Comp 262s?

The mildest head/cams combo on that 2V would give it about the same power as the OP's car. What I don't understand is why he is running 3.73s and not 4.10s.

Blah-******'-blah...a Camaro lost to a 2v and you can't accept it. How do you not see how closed-minded you are...? I guess next time you beat a Mustang, we're all allowed to bench race reasons as to why you shouldn't have and you're supposed to let it fly

You all act like the mustang put busses on him, we all know that if the camaro had traction it would have been over for the stang.

You stang guys on here really baffle me some times. I might as well start defending the tbi305 like you guys do the 2v.

If i raced a HEADS AND CAMS stang and he didnt put zip codes on a bolt on lt1 i would laugh at him all day long.

I agree with this. He prob either had ported stockers or the PI heads off the mid 01-04's and is calling it a real head upgrade. I'm not surprised about where this race was heading, but if the mustang had better heads it should have pulled harder. 2v's biggest problem is the heads. Cams are almost worthless on anything close to stock heads.
