Hey guys, I want to get an aux input for my 2000 camaro but I'm not sure what to get, I was thinking of getting the isimple kit cause it has an ipod interface but I read that it takes a while to skip to the next song when using the radio or steering wheel controls. Anyone have any experience with it? Also is the GM9-Aux kit better in anyway(sound quality, reliability, etc)

go with the Isimple IS77 very strait foward and is a good device. I install these on a daily basis at my shop.

Again, that's an FM modulator (which doesn't sound nearly as good as a direct connection) and it provides no control of the iPod from the radio or steering wheel. The GM9-AUX doesn't provide controls either but at least it is a direct connection.

Let me add to this for anyone researching

Isimple thing works great. VERY easy to install. Its actually quicker changing between tracks compared to my aftermarket Alpine deck w/ Ipod control. Its completely hidden, requires no modifying, and sounds awsome.

Will the iSimple work on a '98 factory cd player head unit?

Nope. You need a 2000 and newer head unit.

Be very careful handling the plug that goes into your iPod. Mine broke after just two months, first it stopped charging, then it stopped playing music too.. The wires broke internally inside the plug :(

We have sold thousands of the isimple kits and have had maybe 7 bad ones over the years.

I installed one in my father's Trans Am about 3 years ago. Very simple to install and he hasn't had any problems with it.

Go to pac-audio.com for the application guide. There are a couple of different ones depending on what you want to connect.

I have one in my TBSS, it has worked great for almost a year now. Pretty easy to install and also has all the functions you could want. Ipod control, normal aux input, just ipod input w/charging then you use the ipod to control songs, control songs from your stock radio, etc.

My TBSS has factory nav though, so I am sure the use/layout is a little different.
