I have an LS1 input shaft that has the end galled due to a bad pilot bearing.

Can I simply re-use this input shaft if I machine it shorter to use larger Corvette
pilot bearing as shown here:

Would I have any foreseeable issues with the clutch if I do this?

Do the TR-6060 transmissions in the 2010+ Camaro use this style pilot bearing with a shorter input shaft?

We just cut the tip down and press a case hardened bushing on the end of it. This is actually better than stock because the thickness of hardened material is thicker than what comes from Tremec.

Do you know what the nominal tip diameter is?

Also how much does your repair cost?
