Definitely like the seats! The door panels would really get on my nerves but that's just my opinion. It's a nice update for the car, looks like the hard work paid off!

Did you do a writeup on this? Very interested in how you did the door panels, I can't stand the camo cloth anymore.

This came out really good for doing it yourself. Goes well with the theme of the car. Wish the leather was wrapped just a lil tighter though.good job

the panels will straighten out in time.. theyre new guys... give the guy a break.. I did my own and they took about 3 months before I didnt notice any wrinkles anymore.. they were actually good well before that point but because I did them, EVERYTHING stuck out to me....

Very nice Chaman! Do you have a writeup on how you did it or the materials used? Its a nice updated look for sure. Not sure how I feel about the door panels but it is certainly different..

Remove the brushed aluminum stuff and get a better steering-wheel wrap from redlinegoods.com, then call it done. Very nice man!

Anyone talking about the wrinkles know shit about this material. The material at the door panels can not be stretched more since its glued to the insert itself. Once it goes through some heating and shrinking cycles will smooth out.

Well done.

If I had a say in your interior choice, I 'd say keep the trim only on knob, switch plate and radio bezel. Everything else gotta go.

I think you need to take pics of my car/interior. Awesome pics.
Interior looks good. Not feeling the pattern of the door panels, but that's just me. I like the two tone, but I wouldn't use grey. I like the darker colors which is why I went ebony with my interior swap.

Thanks for the props. Youre right I will not change a thing in my car, specially because I did it myself. I am my most harsh critic, and if I knew it was a shitty job I would have never dare show it here.

I guess I need to use expansive foam in my interior or start a thread so someone do my college homework for me to be at the same level of some people here! LOL!!

Any questions about it let me know. You can also check the how to thread I did a few weeks ago.

looks pretty good overall, I really like the color scheme and pleat design in the doors. Just a recomendation. If you have access to a steamer (even one of those cheap walmart ones) and take it to the door planels for a few minutes, ittl help stretch it out. Other than that great job!

Yea we had to do a little steaming with mine too. It dose a good job

chaman
04-17-2012, 08:44 PM
Do you apply some pressure while steaming or just let the steam do the work? If you have taken these panels out you know that the cardboard behind the inserts is quite flimsy.

yea heat deffinatly helps, in the 2 weeks ive had my rears in they stretched out alot. The fronts been in for a week now and its doing the same.... might hit it with steam one more time. Havent gotten to my door panels yet but there next on the list lol

Good to know! When I installed mine, it was raining, no sun at all. You know that you are supposed to let them in the sun to help with the installation so they stretch easier... In my case I needed a stronger hand! Hands went numb for days! LOL!

I think it looks great. The high quality material always takes longer to smooth out. Id say a few days in the direct heat with the windows up will do wonders...

Im assuming this was directed at me... but I don't get it? I wouldn't use any foam, but maybe fabric that didn't look like boat vinyl would accent your interior much better. And your toy car mounted on the dash... no comment. I dunno why you are getting so defensive anyways, at least I complimented your failing effort at redoing your interior.

Thanks! Thats the plan!

As I mentioned in my other thread, this material is imitation leather and when compared to the OEM leather looks and feel much more real!

That toy car is even more of a car than yours.

You absolutely fail if you think that is what it is going to look like when it is finished :jest: It was a progress picture, the whole trunk will be fiberglassed when it's finished.. try again. I'm not sure where you are getting these "kid" comments from anyways? Btw taste isn't buying crap accents off ebay and slapping them all over your dash.

When the leather smooths (and it will) that will be absolutely breathtaking. I applaud your effort, the seats and door panels look phenomenal. Best part? Jealousy has brought the envy of the masses to your doorstep. May not agree with some of the accents you've got but overall your car is beautiful and the work you've done deserves true recognition.

Thanks for the support guys! I left the car a few hours in the sun and the wrinkles have started to smooth out.

The shifter was made by MBA, a company that no longer exists. They sold those with a nifty adapter for the A4 tranny. T change gears you push down and move the lever. I think that WS6Store was selling them and they are a sponsor here.

In order to be used in the A4 an adapter is needed. MBA used to made them. Email WS6Store and see what they say. Good luck!

Ya looks real good, you got that interior from Camaro King LA I've talked with the guy he sent me some samples.

I have the same steering wheel wrap as yours but colors are black and charcoal on mine. Your interior accents and gauge area looks good with the theme you did.

Great Pics by the way.
