Eastern Members - 4l60e has issues may need rebuilt any trans guys in Lancaster Pa

Looking to get my trans done or help doing it or fixed if its fixable .... slipping in and out of 4th shifts good but looses it when cruising ...drop to 3rd and shift into OD and its back /good shift cruise for a while and it just goes away when you get off the gas then on the gas free rev if you stay on the gas it will stay and it only does it after hot and not every time ......it has firm shifts for all gears and is a stock 98 Z28 runs 13.23 with no slicks in the 1/4 mile and the trans is doing this not sure if its beat and needs rebuild or possably repaired and info would help ......its a daily driver and need to keep on the road right now ...... Thanks

Are you 100% sure its dropping to 3rd? What I usually see is the trans locking and unlocking the converter. There are multiple things that can cause this. Misfires are the most commen. Put the car on a scan tool of some kind and monitor lockup and check for any fault codes.

Not that this is the same programming but I recalled having a tranmission rebuilt with a transgo shift kit and had a issue of the car not staying in 4th under WOT and would dump and stay in 3rd (Monitored by Datamaster), no error code. Turns out the PCM was tuned to have higher line pressure and the combo just made it act weird. PCMforless at the time turned it down and worked fine ever since.

I do have the pressure turned up with a Hypertech tuner do you think that could be whats up because thats kinda when it started when I changed a program

I did take the program out and it didnt help ...dropped the pan and no mess in the pan new fluid and filter and it still does it every once and a while
