Default Sold my Vette, replacement suggestions wanted

I finally sold my '01 C5 Vert. Thing was falling apart. So I'm looking for a new convertible or coupe. I don't want another Vette right now, grandsports are still too pricey. I'm going to go used. So I'm thinking about a late 4th gen Trans Am, an LS2 GTO, 5th gen camaro, or challenger. Only vert in there would be the camaro and the T/A is getting older so not sure about that. Any thoughts? Other suggestions?

Is price a big factor? The 5th gen Camaro and Challenger would be the most expenisve to own and the Trans Am and GTO would be much cheaper but would probably be your best bet if you want to go fast(er).
I would personaly go with the LS2 GTO because it's a little newer than the Trans Am and the interior is much nicer IMO. Not a huge fan of the 5th gen Camaro. But, I wouldn't mind having a nice clean WS6 as long as it's in excellent condition and low-ish miles.

I mean I plan on making a project out of it so starting with something cheaper would be nice. But I Can afford the 5th gen or challenger and yea they are big and heavy. But their both great looking cars. They blow away the GTO on looks. The GTO has a better interior than the 4th gen f body by far. None of these cars have great interiors though.

What else is there? What's going to handle the best? Adding power for straight line performance isn't as tough as brakes and suspension. I wish I had the time to restore a '77 T/A right now, always wanted the bandit T/A. The WS6 is a sweet ride too.

03/04 vert cobra? That's what I plan to buy myself as a graduation present besides the vert part. December can't get here soon enough.

I'm sure they can be made into really nice cars. But I won't drive a ford. I almost traded my Vette and Impala in on a new BOSS but decided I didn't want a ford.

Yeah thats what I figured when I saw the cars you were looking at replacing it with, but I decided might as well throw it out there. I would just recommand test driving all of them and seeing what you will enjoy the most. I think the WS6 is probably the best looking out of that bunch with the challenger being a close second, but thanks just my opinion.

I'd say the WS6 and challenger are tied in the looks department. Both look awesome. I love the challenger in plum crazy purple with black wheels, mirrors, and stripes, but a WS6 blacked out is a mean looking ride...

I've driven several 5th gens and a 392 challenger. Both felt similar, camero had th edge on handling but the challenger was awesome off the line.

I was also thinking about a 3rd gen camaro vert and doing an LS, 6 speed swap but the interior is terrible in that car. It's too bad out of my top choices the 5th gen is the only vert. I don't know if I can just get the SS now that the ZL1 is out and kicking ***. If I ever pulled up next to one I'd feel inadequate haha

What about an Iroc camaro? Would be cheap and they handle outstanding in stock form, could only imagine what some suspension upgrades would do. I could see a stroked LS engine thumpin in one of those and you can get them with the droptop. Or are you looking for something newer?

Edit: I didnt see ur post ^^^ lol, but with the money you would save on the vehicle itself you could really go all out with it. And what's stopping you from swapping an interior? Could be a bad ride.

Haha yea already said that. But i didn't know they were known for their handling. I was thinking an aluminum 5.3 with a pro charger a nice 6-700 horse would be a ton of fun in that car. But yea not so sure about getting a 92 let alone an 02. **** a 92 is 20 years old already. But I could probs find a V6 3rd gen vert For a deal. I'd love to find one with a blown motor or something. I hate that interior though.

I had an 89' z28 (305 tpi, boooo) but it outhandled my 97' Z that I had. I was impressed with it. heck yea man 20 yrs old.. shes a classic! The interior is pretty bad, but you could swap out the seats from a newer camaro and a little fiberglass work on the dash and console with some suede wrapped around it... sexy...

Some sweet recaros and a custom iPad dash would be bitchin...imma start looking for a 3rd gen vert with a blown motor or trans. Any other suggestions in that price range? Really want a vert. Did they make the 4th gen T/A in a vert? I don't like the 4th gen camero it looks like a Chrysler Sebring. Can a power top be retro fitted to a 3rd gen?

Think I found what I want. This looks awesome and it's my color. Needs some new graphics though the stock stuff is U.G.L.Y. And I'm not paying that much for an '02 no matter what the miles

That car is nice, but that price is a little insane. You could find one with 30-40K for 15-18 instead of 35K

That's what I'm going with. It will be way faster than a 5th gen vert with the same power. And I don't have the time to do an LS swap 3rd gen. Already found one about 20 miles away asking 17 with 29k on it. Going to check it out on Saturday!

Should I just throw twin turbos or a blower at that stock motor or crack it open now and add turbos later.
