General LSX Automobile Discussion - Friends ls1 won't start. Any help?

hey guys my friend has a 01 camaro ss and he let it run low on oil and the low oil light came on and basically died and wont start. Now he called me up and said that a guy at his work was a "GM emp." and said that there is an oil sensor that if it goes dry on oil thatr it wont start up until u put 5 quarts back into it. then the sensor will go back and the engine will turn over. any info on this ? I guess we will try tonight i guess .

hate to say it, but it dont work like that bud..cars gonna need some diagnosing by someone that knows whats up.

That's what I tried to tell him, we got it started but like i exected there's rod knock
