Drag Racing Tech - guys with Cheetah shifters, i got a question

i got my shifter mounted and the cable comes out the rear and just wondering how you guys ran the cable, where you cut the hole etc. thanks

drill a hole several inches back depending on how long the cable is, then run it straight to the trans ;)


We had to zip tie it towards the brake lines or it would rub on the driveshaft

I run the cable through the factory parking brake bushing.

I went straight back and drilled the hole on the side of the trans tunnel after going 180 degrees with the cable back towards the front of car... the hole was straight tehn i used a screwdriver to kind of angle it so that the cable would lay flush against the tranny tunnel... works great...

I ran my through the hole in the six speed shift boot, but not everyone has that option.

I drilled a hole a couple of inches back then used a 1/2" extension to elongate the hole so it didn't cut into the cable. Like others have said route the cable where the factory brake/fuel line goes so it will stay off the driveshaft. I stuck more to the drivers side of the tunnel so it would come out near the lines.
