Default twin turbonetics 11533 thoughts

I have been looking at ideas on twin turbos for my 408. It currently has a f1a on it and looking to pull it off this weekend. I have been looking at turbonetics hurricane turbos because they are pretty inexpensive. I am wanting to do a twin ls3 manifold setup like the other thread on here. I was looking at the 11533 turbo in particular. Its a t4 flange with a 72 compressor and 68 turbine wheel. It has a .81 ar on the exhaust. Would using a pair of these get me 800 hp on 12psi of boost on a built 408 worked l92 heads? Would this be a good spooling turbo that where boost would come on stong at 4000-4500 rpms? I want room to grow obviously and would eventually turn it up to 18psi and try to make a **** ton more power. Would I be better off going with the 11226 with the 66/65? Here is the link to the spec page. Tell me your expert thoughts. Thanks, Josh

6665's

7268's won't spool like you want on the street.

Even behind an auto? So you would go the 6665's?

A single 76mm will make 1000 fwhp on a 370 with the correct turbine.
Twin 61's will get you 1300 fwhp. About the same as a PT88H.
That's 8 sec power.
twin 70's are usually on drag cars or 427+ cid.

Check Nelson Racing Engines site.
He has a 388 LSX w/ ported L92's that makes 1400 hp w/ twin 61's.
And a 427 gen1 w/ twin 72's that makes 1500+ - dig in the videos and you can find it in a yellow? 2nd gen.
Might see if he'll sell you a cam.

What are your plans?

I'd go 6162 or 6262's for twins on a 370. Not a fan of 4" crank in iron block with boost.

But I bought a GT4788R yesterday instead.

You'll have plenty of fun with the twin 66's on your 408.
If I'd bought a sleeved LS2 block instead of the NA 416 I got (in hind site) it's how I'd go.

I would do a 370, but I have the 408 already in the car and its got about 300 miles on it so thats what I have to work with. I will probably do the 6665's just because I want it to spool better down low. The max power I would like to make down the road would be close to 1000 to the wheels permitting everything else is up to snuff. I will search more on nelsons site. Thanks for all the advice man. Good luck with yours.
