tryed replacing my front door speaker in my 2000 trans am with monsoon . I have alpine 6.5 inch speaker . I went to put the new speaker in and it doesnt even come close to linning up with the screw holes in the speaker pod . The stock speaker is square so with round speaker it doesnt line up at all. Hope this isnt a dumb question

Make some speaker rings out of MDF and mount em up. If you don't have the tools to do it any car audio shop will cut you some for a few $$.

The factory speakers are not square. They are 6.5S (6.5" over-sized) round components. Just about any 6.5" or 6.75" round speaker will fit. The screw holes may not line up but that's just a simple matter of drilling holes and adding speed nuts.
