I'm just curious, what's does your cammed ls1 idle good at after it was tuned?
Let me also know what size cam you have and it's LSA.
Mine was set to 950rpm by my tuner, and my cam is a 227/231 111+2 lsa with TPiS 90 intake, 66cc AFR 205's, LT headers, an stock 3.42 rear gears.
I would love to be able to at least drop it to 850rpm!

my cam is a 240 .630 single pattern on a 114LSA.
my 243 are also ported,if that matters to your idleing question.......?

230/232 .613/.598 110LSA idles at 950. I tried to drop it, but it created other idling issues for me, specifically when coming to a stop.

230/230 115+2 900 l92 block 379ci, ls6 intake 5.3 heads stage 2.5
Just tried 750rpm and 800 rpm. 750 brings in a very slight cam lope, and 800 is just down right quiet. I think I'll keep 800rpm since it has a nice bass tone to it.

Just tuned one this weekend 228/228 112LSA, sounded best at 850 running temp so left it there.

236 238 112 lsa......right around 800 rpms
EPS cam 222/226 LSA 113 with stock 243 heads, idle set at 700 rpm. No bucks, no surges and AFR is perfect.

Tsp 228R cam, start up idle is set at 1000 and warm idle is set at 750

My personal C5 is a stock cube LS1 with a 238/247 on a 114 and it idles perfect at 850rpm.
There is no reason a cam as small as the OP has should have to idle at 950rpm.

Mine is usually set to 850 or 900. Cam is a Vindicator - so 24x duration @ ~600 lift.
Just for fun, we dropped the commanded idle to 600. My tune held up it's end of the deal. The alternator wasn't too happy though. :lol:

900 when warmed up.. 850 cold. PatG tq cam, 102 and UDP.
238/244 605/612 114 lsa. i have my idle set at 900. still playing with my idle tune so ill see if i can drop that some. stock cube, ls6 intake 80mm tb, all supporting mods

234/240, 112lsa - 870rpm.
224/232 114 LSA.... (something like that).
It idles at 800 then up to 1100 then back to 800, then back up to 1100, then back to 800..... j/k. It idles at 800 when hot.
Depends on the cam and setup. Some setups are just cranky and need to be idled a little higher.

Cold start mine is around 1100, hot is 950rpm, I wouldn't mind it down around 800-850. I have a nelson tune. LS6 with a 220/224 .575/.575 on a 112LSA.

I'll play! 267/272 .695/.698 110lsa. Likes a 980 rpm idle but no lower makes 4.5" of vacuum.. 1300 at cold start, runs E85 that's kind of grumpy cold.

i have a 228/230 .571 .573 112 and right now i have mine set at 850 hot and it runs perfect.but with the new rolling idle tables in hptuners i could probably get it to idle perfect at 650,i might play around it and see,but im pretty confident in it working great

I reset my idle to 850 and my car seems to like that better coming back down to idle when stoping didnt surge once, it only surged once in a blue moon before that.

298/301 .595lift 1000rpm cold about 900 normal operating temp. oops mines an a4.so thats in park. in gear its about 850-900
