Good weekend, just got back from a 1k mile road trip to pick this little guy up

taking longer than I want due to budget constraints, but it's coming along. here's how the car sits currently with the engine bay painted

there's pics of my old setup all over here. the new setup will look very similar with the exception of cleaning up shit in the engine bay, and hopefully making 150+ more rwhp. ill make a build thread once im closer to getting back together so its not drawn out over 2-3 months

I use lots of zip lock bags with groups of nuts/bolts/etc. when I have to take things apart. So maybe a single bag would hold all the bolts and whatever for the front bumper cover. Of course I label each bag 'cause I'll get confused.

Specs on the shortblock?
Looking good man!
Looks to me like an Iron block 6.0 based motor... 370? Are you going to keep the TC76?

wiring harness is pretty easy since all connectors are individualized and ive been playing with these cars since 2000-01 so I have them pretty much memorized.
as for nuts n bolts, lots-o-ziplocks

close, iron LM7 punched out to 3.905 --> iron 347. 370 would be badass but 1) that would require a turbo upgrade and im broke (deciding to take your car apart right after getting engaged is not the brightest idea. . .) 2) LM7 was free
built by TEC in south florida (awesome to do business with btw), 01 LM7 block and crank, eagle H beams w/ ARP 2000's, JE pistons, clevite bearings, ARP mains. keeping the TC76 and gonna see how far it will go. hoping for 650 on pump and 750+ turned up. honestly 9.7-9.8 @ 140+ is the primary target
still rocking the T56

Looking nice Tally! It's always awesome to look at a fresh built motor. The 347 sounds like a good plan. Also, I think I know why you want to go 9.7-9.8@140mph. :secret2:

Why did you decide to go with the iron block rather than just having your stock shortblock rebuilt?
btw, your shortblock looks awesome!

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the iron blocks stronger...hold more power than the LS1 short blocks. IMHO, LS2 block with L92 heads sound good :chug:

two real reasons:
1) the current power goals are based on the TC76. down the line a precision 7675 or something similar with likely end up in the car and those power goals will go up substantially, and i would prefer iron in the 900+ range.
2) its always nice to have a spare motor in case a good project comes up, plus a have a little emotional attachment to it. ill slowly turn it into a budget longblock find something to do with it. dont be surprised to see it in this little guy i just picked up to scratch my driving like a crazy person itch. buddy got hit on the left front corner and i got it for dirt cheap, gas savings alone will pay for the fucker in a couple months. 27.2 mpg last tank beating the brakes off it

Love your car love your build! Best part is you keeping the 6speed that's what I'm trying to do.
Good stuff man! I'm hoping for similar goals with my 370/pt76gts
