Default SS Hood

Could the SS hood scoop increse my track times and by how much or is it just for show? Thanks. -Rookey

on 98+ cars, the SS hood is automatically functional, the ducting is actually part of the bottom of the hood.....it really doesnt make a difference tho....it looks cool but for the most part, all other things being equal, an SS hood probably isnt going to win a race...MAYBE theres 1-2 hp at high speed but the path the air takes after the scoop is so long and curvy that the "ram" effect is really killed by te time it gets all the way down to the airbox.

Nope, not at the track. I read before that it only has a minimal effect but that is at speeds over 120 mph.

id get teh SS hood, and then FTRA. FTRA will perform better, but the hood looks sweet.

SS hoods look cool but id look elsewhere if youre looking for one that gives you more power.i believe suncoast and SLP offer more functional hoods.
