My front driver blinker blows every few months. It looks like it's getting way too hot because the blinker housing has burn marks near the bulb. Someone said the problem is that I have HIDs and that adding an additional relay will stop the blinkers from blowing. Can anyone confirm this?

I bought the car w/ HIDs already installed but I can contact the owner with questions if need be. Thanks.

the relay setup is used to stop flicker that some HID kits experience, the only point where the blinker circuit even has contact with the headlight or foglights (depending on where your HID's are) is at the ground block for that headlight assembly, that just doesn't sound right.
Make sure your using 3157 bulbs in your turn signal, and check for shorts in the blinker wiring.
