look with a flashlight at the bellhousing flange....it usually says 5.0 or 5.7
liter gas. They look identical externally as the only difference is 3.736" bore
or a 4.00" for the 350

x2. sometimes you can see it from the ground but its a weird angle. Ive done it a couple of times with a camera phone from inside the engine bay and snapped a pic that way.

cant see pic but alot of those trucks came with 305s

thanks guys, its a z71 but he said the engine has been replaced. I'll let you all know next time i talk to him or if i go look at it

you can run the vin... but if it has been replaced no tellin gotta check the block numbers

he said it was a 305, gonna go make him an offer one weekend i got off, hopefully get it for about 500 and maybe throw in a little trade, maybe a compound bow or speakers or something. i wanna weld up some bad ass bumpers and a skid plate under the front with a roll bar with the fiberglass sail panel
