New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - Intake tube length ?

I am curious if their is a maximum intake tube length on a LS motor.
Vehicle has a edelbrock intake manifold with a intake elbow on top of it.
Plan is to run it directly into the cab then accross the firewall and then back forward through the fender to the front of the fender, also planning on having forced air hood that will force some air into the filter box.

Also, is it best to have sensor close to the filter or closer to the intake?
