Default Rebuild ls1

I just bought a 2000 trans am the motor was rebuilt 30000 miles ago and a lifter has gone bad. I'm thinking of just rebuilding the whole thing. I got 4k to spend all I really want is to produce between 400-450hp at the wheels. Do y'all think it can be done and any suggestion on how to do it thanks.

do a leak down or compression check, maybe the short block is ok.get some new lifters from Texas Speed .check out one of their head/cam combos.get some cnc heads or some tfs 220 heads.a fast intake for $840,and a custom cam from the cam experts on this forum..you will need a bigger fuel pump and injectors .or check out vengeance racing for a head/cam pkg.

If its just a lifter replace those and do a head cam swap and keep your ls6 intake. **** if the motor was just rebuilt not to long ago save your money.

call Texas speed, they will set you up to what your looking for.
