Appearance & Detailing - Everyone says I need new wheels...

Everyone says I need new wheels,been rolling the chrome Z06's for over 8 years now.
Here is a pic of the car the way its been for a long time.

My son says it's time to drop the classy look and go a little more evil looking.
Been thinking of going with a black wheel, (flat or gloss?) but not sure what one.


Car is at the body shop now having my cme installed and valance molded.
Having the manta redone on the hood also.
Any thoughts on wheels would be great.

try some plasti dip. see if you like the look...if not then peel it off! seen people do stripes on their car too! then peel it off

Man I think those wheels look perfect on that car. Are you lowered? Lowering a bit would change up the look also. I think people just get sick of seeing the same thing on their cars. I'm the same way. I'll change something and realize I liked it better the way I originally had it.

You could always get another set of wheels and keep the chrome Z06's to swap out every now and then to change up the look. But your car is beautiful just the way it looks now.

It's time for NEW wheels like you said, not just recolored wheels. I was rocking the same chrome Z06's that came on my car when I got it. I decided they were too plain for the color.

Yea thought about the plasti dip thing just to see but like HoLLo said think its time for a change.

Agreed any ccw or fikse. Go big or go home. If not in the budget, I would personally wait. Why get another cheap rim or replica rim? Those look good till you can get the money to upgrade. Don't get another reasonably priced rim and feel the same way in a couple years, get what you really want.

Budget really isn't an issue, wanna do the one and done thing (or at least another 8 years).

CCW's are surely a strong possibility.

I don't think som cars look right with black accents like many other colors do. I mean grill and stuff ok but wheels and headlights should stay chrome on the already flashy color. I don't like black wheels anyway.

Pretty much anything is better than c5z wheels. They looked out of date when they came out on the Z06. They look more at home on a 3rd gen or C4 than anything else and even then they don't look "good" IMO

everyone says you need new wheels, cool have them all pitch in to buy new ones lol SOM IMO goes best with chrome or polish finish. I love me some black rims but on certain colors.

Yeah, also please stay chrome or polished. Black and gray/graphite wheels just don't look good on SOM really.

I've been happy with my gunmetal z06 replicas. When I was looking for new wheels for my SOM, I thought a full chrome or polished wheel was too much bling. Also thought a full black wheel looked kind too unfinished on a SOM car. But hey, that's just me.

Evil is the way to go. My car cam with the Chrome 10 spokes, couldn't wait to get rid of them. SOM and Black are my favorite ;)

I like your current setup.

If you're set on getting something darker, I'd personally do an 18" set of gunmetal Fikse FM5s with a polished lip. Then top that off with a gunmetal manta stripe.

18 rts, same wheels that are on gmhtp's "Sti killer" perfect wheels

I say do some 35th ten spokes with a SOM lip...but widened. Id say 295 or 315 on the rear would be nice.

Then you could be pretty confident that no one else has the same setup.
