Hey guys I have a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 with 50,000 miles, been having an issue lately with the rear end whining when accelerating especially more noticeably when over 55 mph. I've taken it to a couple shops and they've change bearings and ring and pinions but havent solved the problem. I've read where if the gear isnt shimmed correctly it will still make the noise. Does anyone know of a good mechanic near the Naples Ft Myers area or relatively close to that? Im running out of options and out of my mind with this noise? Thanks!!:bang:

Call Moser, then buy one.

I had the same issue last year. New bearings did most of the trick. It still makes noise but not nearly as much as before.

did the noise change at all after any of the attempted repairs.

Could it be be the rear axle bearings by the brakes transmitting the noise? I just am clueless?

If they swapped rear ends and the noise is still the same, I would look into the trans. I would not think they both make the same noise.

Most likely not the rear if the noise stayed the same
