Default Procharger D1SC LS1 J-Bracket Pros and Cons?

So I am in the process of looking for a bracket for D1SC Procharger. I was leaning towards the aster bracket which I know is the best but due to finances I am now going with a J bracket from Procharger. What are the pros and cons of this bracket? My car has the stock bottom end so i am planning on only running 8 or 9 pounds of boost. I will be going with an FMIC as well. Let me know your thoughts guys!

Thanks

Save for the Aster bracket... Or look for a used Aster or SDCE bracket...

ATI alum J-bracket here.

I run a bracer from SDCE though that that connects the base of the supercharger to the lower oil pan....just a simple rod.

Anyhow, 17 psi, no slip.

Save for the Aster Bracket. Worth every single penny, especially when you decide down the road to turn up the wick. I can't post the video and it may be in my old build thread but you would be very suprised on how much those belts stretch under full load.

Edit: Video is on this page of my build thread

I don't have any installed pics, but it is a rod that runs from the driver-side forward corner of the oil pan (bolted down by one of the oil pan bolts) to the back-side of the supercharger on the flimsiest part of the J.

Its a simple fix and seems to stop any sort of flex.

You can see a picture of the rod in the lower left of this picture (yes I know I suck at linking).

I've never had slip problems due to flex. I spin the D1 to 62k at 17 psi and have done so for about 40k miles now. Possibly, I'm just lucky.

Here's a pic of my SDCE J bracket with the rod to the oil pan. http://mycarpics.shutterfly.com/277

I would either send you J bracket to SDCE and let them add their spring tensioner, or save up and get the astar J bracket.
Here's SDCE's spring tensioner http://mycarpics.shutterfly.com/211

If it were me I would save for a couple more weeks and do it right and get asters bracket. I know it sucks to spend that kind of money but you will save money in the long run if you just get aster bracket the first time.

I hear that the brackets slip and dont account for the belts movement.....that belt is constantly changing its size. Get above 8-12 lbs and your going to start slipping....and having bearing issues and all kinds of nasty bullshit...it is the worst part of the kit. I have one and I cannot even sell it. I am getting the aster bracket. Among other things....in the end you just do not wanna have to be tightening the belt all the time. 3-4 week wait time.
