I'm having major issues getting valve covers to fit on the heads I have. The inside webbing of the valve cover does not clear the rocker arms, anyone have this problem and what valve covers should I go with. I have AFR 195cc CNC ported heads on my 396 lt1. My alternator is in its stock location so the passenger side valve cover needs to be notched out. I Would prefer the valve covers to be polished aluminum.

hmmm well as far as another valve cover im not sure with the alt in stock location although i believe i've found a thread about this a while ago when i was looking into rock arm and i believe if you dremel out the intake side of the valve cover webbing it should work, don't hold me to it though just thought i'd give you a response maybe someone else can back me up with that though

I'm assuming you're using the stock covers so I cut the long part of the valve cover like this and they fit perfectly with my rockers. Hope this helps (note that I googled this pic but it's the same thing I did):

I am running the fab cantons. They will clear everything. There are pics in the link in my sig if you want to take a look at them

You can either cut them out or take a set of pliers or vice grips and straighten the 90* lip on each brace. That way you can maintain full rigidity.

Canton if you keeping the alt in the same place. If relocated, I got the ebay specials and they looks great and dont leak. Just get a good gasket...

I am running platinum Yella Terra rockers, I had to order their valve spacers to clear the rockers. Good luck.

Spoke withwith buddy whoof works for jessel, he milled out the webbing and they go on with no issues. I'm still going to go and get the canton covers, will send them out to be polished, anyone know of a good polisher?

I have the billet specialties flamed tall valve covers on my afr 190s. Madman notched the pass one for the alt. Im running the crane gold rockers with no issues. And cantons suck ass. Nothing but leaks from day one.

I think theyre just plain ugly LoL The proform ones Ive got are polished Had to do the chevy ones because the plain polished ones were on back order Any of em look way cleaner than those cantons
