Drag Racing Tech - Venting valley cover?
I was thinking about just welding a -12an bung to the front of the valley cover & venting into a breather tank.. Would this be sufficient enough for a 346 H/C/I motor w/ nitrous? I'd much rather do this instead of running breathers on the valve covers, if it will work. Thanks!

Valve covers are the highest point to vent from, have u considered putting bungs on the valve covers and plumbing to a catch can?
Thats what I did.

Not trying to hijack but isnt oil consumption worse from the valve cover area than the valley cover?

Thats what I did.Yes, I actually have -10 bungs to do the covers.. Just thought a single 12 from the valley would look a lil cleaner.. So you're just venting from both valve covers to a single breather tank?

I actually used 2 catch cans and I used the stock valley vent also.

I accually used 2 catch cans and I used the stock valley vent also.
You did a nice job with the install BUT.....
It would've been nice if that engine accually ran in your car before you parted it out and sold everything.:nutkick:

youll get less oil out of the valve covers vs the valley if you vent from the valley in the from the front.
If it is in the mid region of the valley cover it may be better.
I had my vacuum pump pulling from the front and would pull 1/4 qt of oil on a run.

Can't compare a vacuum pump to just crankcase ventilation.
