Multimedia Exchange - Bone stock 2013 Nissan GT-R runs 10.8s at @ 125MPH

We took our new 2013 Nissan GT-R that we tested a month ago back to Palm Beach International Raceway for some more testing. With better weather and some more miles on the car we were able to consistently run well into the 10′s with Nissan’s latest and greatest. The quickest run of the night was a 10.87 @ 125.26 MPH with 0-60 MPH coming up in just 2.7 seconds and a 60-130 MPH time of 8.89 seconds (VBOX). Peak G forces on the launch were 1.3 G’s.

The little extra power and torque of the 2013 Nissan GT-R along with the updated LC5 Launch Control system clearly shows when compared against the 2012 we tested last year which had a best time of 11.07 @ 124 MPH. Take a look at the timeslips, pictures and video below.

Great run, but Im a Chevy guy! Love the car tho. Cant afford either car so I have a 1981Turbo TA that has a junkyard LQ4, and GT45 turbo. That will run 10.80s. 1% of the cost great car!

For the money (if your wanting the best street car) the GT-R is where its at. 100K from Nissan and with about 85K in it you can beat anybody on the streets. If I had the money I would have a Z06 and a GT-R but If I only had enough for one it would be the GT-R.

I think those are stock optional wheels (maybe spec-v, but idk). There are 2 in my town with the same exact wheels...

Honestly there are people out there launching the hell out of their GT-Rs and having no trans issues. Many of the trans issues were ironed out in 2010. Also there are GT-Rs launching on the stock trans with Alpha 9 and Switzer P800 kits so a bone stock car doing it shouldn't have any issues.

How should it be faster? Its a STOCK 10 second car (for most 11). That means go buy it, take it to the track, and run 11s or 10s. Without doing anything. It only make 500 at the wheels. You also have to realize how much it weights. Its not light by any means. I think 10.8s are very good for a stock car. With saying that a car with 500hp should be faster than 10.8s that means the ZL1 should be a 9 second car(hypothetically without spinning)

When cars are around 100k, I don't think 20k is quite a make or break to the ones buying the cars. It's like a regular guy waffling over the difference between cars that cost 17k and 20k. Not even going to argue the ridiculous 4 vs 2 seat comment.

Personally,...the car is too many idea's,put into one, when it comes to styling. I think it looks like a car with down syndrome,..or better yet, like it's kinda inbred looking,..like maybe its parents had sex with someone they weren't supposed to.

Congrats on the time slip but,..with an all wheel drive automatic at 90 grand,...I am not impressed, and I never will be. Very happy the car is out though,...as all it does is enhance the breed, everyone steps they're shit up,...and whadda ya know, we got 660+hp mustangs rolling out, 600+hp vipers, 600+vettes,..all out of the factory...and 9's in 4 door cadillac's with easy to reproduce mods. If I hit the lotto tomorrow,..the GTR is one car,..I would never buy for any reason what so ever. To me,it's a kids car...one that watched one too many fast and furious movies.

I appreciate anything fast,..just don't blow up 90k AWD car and act like your supposed to be surprised.

There is an airfield event in Florida where some of the big dog GA GT-Rs, Lambos and Vettes and other big dog cars are going to. You should go there and test your mettle. Many of the issues with the trans were resolved in the newer models and despite popular belief on here there were not as many trans issues in the first year to begin with. I've personally seen stock looking GT-R's drive out to our track rentals, run mid 9's on a true street tire, and drive home. I can respect that! Even very mildly modded GT-R's with an exhaust and tune are running mid 10's on stock tires.

Not to bad! Give the guy props for cracking into the 10's but still... ZR1 > GTR

to me the car is fast, fugly, and expensive. to you it may be awesome. its ok if you don't like my mullet or my car, I could not care less. I'm quite certain if I went on to a gtr forum and posted zr1 stuff I'd receive the same treatment you've gotten here. and if you want to be congratulated around here I think your going to need to pour more than money into your ride.

Not really. The guys at the GT-R forum actually like and respect the ZR1 a lot.

Ask yourself this, how many times can one do 10's in a ZR1 back to back and what does your average ZR1 do in the 1/4. I see it honestly as you get what you paid for. The ZR1 is still 20k more than a GT-R.

For the money (if your wanting the best street car) the GT-R is where its at. 100K from Nissan and with about 85K in it you can beat anybody on the streets. If I had the money I would have a Z06 and a GT-R but If I only had enough for one it would be the GT-R.

Or you could take that $185k and buy a used Lamborghini and ship it to UGR and have a car that beats everything on the streets AND isn't at all fugly.

The only time I've been to the track there was a guy with a C6Z06 that ran in the 14s a few times, and after driving all day finally got down to like a 13.2 or 13.3! He was consistently slower than my full bolt-on Formula with 285/35/18s front and rear and HEAVY replica C5 DD wheels.

I like everything these GTRs can do performance wise, but to me they are just too damn ugly. IDK why Nissan made them so huge, the older GTRs (R33 would be my choice) were MUCH smaller and more attractive.

10's stock with a warranty is badass. I doubt I'd ever want to own one though.

ZR-1= badass car... GTR= badass car... that being said, the ZR-1 should've done a lot better than that, the record for a bone stock ZR-1 (stock tires too) is a 10.85. I would love to own either, lots of haters though... :confused:
