I just bought a 2000 ws6. Was washing the car and realized the driver side tail light is darker than the passenger side. Basicly the driver side is darker and passenger is lighter and more red.
Is there a difference in tail lights from any years that you guys know of? I can get pics if need be. Thanks Jeff

Many owners have 'different' tail lights and it can be from simply replacing them at one point in the car's life. Quite a few owners have experienced malfunctioning lights and even water leaks. Some can require replacement. Sun fading, you name it, can contibute to the 'difference'.

Almost every ls bird I have seen has this color difference. The 99's in particular.

I had another guy tell me he owned one with the same deal. Its not from sun fadeing it. It looks like one is tinted and the other isn't. That's why i asked if there was different years they had jus regular tail lights and some had tinted looking ones. I'll get pics tomar when its day light to show it. I plan on buying another tail light so that they match. Jus really didnt see comeing from factory that they wud do that.

Mine is the same way.
I think it's from moisture getting in there and messing them up.

This is usually caused by one of the tail-lamp assemblies leaking water and the trapped moisture attacking the silver reflective coating inside. There's a sticky around here somewhere that shows how to use a heat gun to seperate the reflector and freshen it up w/ chrome paint and then glue it all back together.
