Video after oil change.
I was concerned why my engine started a ticking noise about 10 days ago. It would tick after it got hot and I started to watch my oil pressure which I think was a little low. I suspected my oil pump was going bad, but after a few calls to shops and replies on this forum and the Corvette forum, it seems like it's really ok afterall. It was suggested I go up in oil weight to see if it would change anything. I first took a look at my valve train trunions, rockers and valve springs. After inspection I reassembled the top end and started the car then let it warm up and noticed NO ticking and things were back to normal. I then went ahead and checked the Owners manual which said I could use 10-40 Mobil One if the temps in my area were high enough(Texas, Duh) and I did it yesterday.
I still have a sewing machine sound which I'm told is just fine for the mods and internal work done. The oil pressure runs about 40psi at cruise and up to 65psi when rowing the gears. It idles at 28-30 psi which is fine.

I figured I was overreacting and freakin out for no reason at all. I started to question my memory about how it ran, and just worried myself silly.
I could have swore that I had a lifter going out, but after finding a friends Camaro running a similar set-up I noticed mine was really quiet afterall.
I guess it was just a case of imagining all sorts of horrors.
Anyway, I guess I need to start that piggy bank and go ahead and plan a LS3 from Mast Motorsports next year and install a 416.

That engine sounds really good. I always thought the sewing machine noise was from the injectors opening and closing. My Dakota has the same noise, it's the injectors.
