Rebuilt title and blown engine? Geez. $8k would probably be MY max. I don't know about anyone else.

What a pile. You might spend another 8K tearing down the block and trying to figure out what's wrong with the motor, to say nothing about the rest of the car. If a rebuild is in order that 'mod motor won't be cheap...

those motors are really really expensive...unless you got the car for 5k its not worth it...especially with the rebuilt title.

The owner would have to pay me 100 bucks to take it. RUN away from that BS.

That's a shame with those low miles but I have to agree with everyone. Paying more than $5,000 is very risky because you do have to think about selling it one day. The old 'albatross around the neck' with that title issue. That car is for someone that could do the majority of the work themselves. The $9,600 price is really wishful thinking, and even then he has a 'reserve'. No way!

Wow its over $9600 for a non-running vehicle with a rebuilt title? What is wrong with some people?

More likely than a blown motor is a fuel problem, FPDM or bad pump(s). The 32v is very expensive to work on but I would bet that there is nothing wrong with the engine. I would ask if he has done a compression check.

Well it's a COBRA! Only problem is that now the buyer and the Mad scientist have to tear down the block to change the piston rings that are fried; it's a good thing he didn't blow the welds on the intake...

Its up to $11,300 with the reserve still on. People are flat out retarded. Blown motor aside, I bet the black paint doesn't match up or is poorly done when it was wrecked. What a turd. Really this thing is just a "clean" roller at this point, I couldn't see paying more than $4,000 and that would only be after I had it up on a lift to see how they fixed it.

Cheaper to make a Cobra clone using a V6 car and building a forged Navigator engine and boosting it.

Without knowing exactly what it is, I'd assume it would need a whole new engine. $9-10k as long as the rest of the car is clean.

Amazing looking car but I cannot believe it is where it is price wise reserve not met, he might be bidding up his own car.
I am tempted to go check out this local Cobra and trade the Camaro in...http://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/2983201450.html :thinker:

^^^ nothing I would absolutely jump on. Yeah, it looks clean, but I've seen ones with 30-40k less miles with the same setup for about that price. I almost bought a tripple black whipple'd 04 vert with 4k miles on it for $26,500 last year, except the guy sold it the day before I moved back to the east coast where the car was.

Look at some of these 2003 Cobras on Autotrader. Similar mileage, good engines, and clean titled as far as I can tell. With the ebay car you get a bad title and a bad engine. He obviously hasn't researched pricing or understand that re-built titles can cause cars to lose to up to 50% of value. Very 'convenient' to overlook that fact. These Autotrader cars are asking prices too. You can get them for prices in the high teens most likely, especially with cash in hand. He'll be sitting on that car for awhile needless to say.

I just sold my '03 with 22k miles, Whipple, built motor, and solid axle for $22,000.

You aren't kidding about rebuilding a motor and how much it costs. Never again for me.

From the outside it looks super clean, get it on a rack and take a look at it.... you can find used cobra motors for 3-5 grand if you look around.

If I was in the market I'd give him 1500 bucks for it :)

Hmm. I guess that's what the new 2033 Cobra is going to look like. It would be retro by then right?

Also, can you say professionally tuned and burnt piston in the same sentence?

You can buy a shortblock for under 3k, do the work yourself and its not a horrible deal if you got it for 10k. Hell the two front seats alone would sell for 2 grand and the damn steering wheel for $500 since its a 10th anniversary car.

^^^ With the rebuilt title it still isn't worth what he's wanting even with a blown motor. My offer of 1500 still stands :)

I was thinking the same thing.

For me it would depend on if I could do all the work myself or not.
