Through the years home brewing has been growing leaps and bounds. I've seen some threads and talks here and there on this forum and I figured lets see who all home brews on ls1tech.

I've been going at it for almost 2 years, and started out with all-grain right from the start.

two leveled system with my strike water tank / hot liquor tank gravity feeds to my mash tun.

Have my keggle & mash tun on the bottom with a march pump mounted on the lowest support, in line with my 200 plate blichman plate chiller. Made many gallons of brew so far!

Always wanted to do a legitimate setup like this but we only messed around with the Mr. Beer stuff a few times.

damn I just have a Midwest Supplies kit which is nothing compared to what your doing there lol.

This was my first batch. A Irish Red Ale. Came out a little lighter then I hoped but tasted good none the less. Second batch is fermenting which is a honey nut brown ale

Currently have a blonde ale fermenting in the primary, which i'm about to transfer over 4.5lbs of halved strawberries... in hopes to make a "strawberry blonde" ale.

should ring in right at 6.0%abv. should be a wonderful summer brew.

Def got me beat, been out of it for years but will get back into it once we settle down somewhere for a while. I'm in for some of that Saison though, been into them lately!

Do you have a filter setup? Or is all of your brew non-filtered? And it all does look very tasty.

everything i've made has been non filtered.

i throw in a whirlfloc tablet at the last 5 minutes at the bowl to help yeast subside while it ferments, and before transferring into a keg, I always try to cold crash the brew to help settle out the residual yeasts.

Bringing this thread back to life, I just brewed my first batch with the cheap ass Mr. Beer kit that my fiance bought me for a gift. It was a blonde ale and was drinkable but tasted like overly carbonated beer.

What is a good legit starter kit or supplies to get, I don't want to spend thousands right now on a hobby I am just getting into. I want to start with the essential supplies and build on there once I figure out what to do.

Any help is appreciated!
