Stereo & Electronics - CD player issues with Monsoon radio

The CD player in my 99 Trans Am with a Monsoon radio is giving me E20 errors. I've done everything I can do to clean the lens with no luck. I even had the radio completely apart last night. So, here are my questions.

1. I have a 2000 Grand Prix with pretty much exactly the same radio, just without the Monsoon logo. If I switch those, will he non-Monsoon work fine in my car with my amp?

2. If I can find a radio with a working CD player in it, and I switch the CD players, will the CD player in any similar Delco radio work? For example, could I switch just the CD player between my Trans Am Monsoon radio and my Grand Prix radio?

I know this all a lot of trouble, but I'm just weighing out my options. Thanks.

There is nothing special about a Monsoon head unit - it's just an ordinary Delco radio with a Monsoon label on the face. The difference is all in the external amp and the speaker layout. Your Grand Prix HU should plug in and work just like the original.
