Got a line on an LH6, what would the maximum bore be on that block?? Tried a search came up with nothing, called a couple of LS oriented machine shops and got conflicting answers, if you have had an experience with this, good or bad, would appreciate the answers.....:usa:

I think people are looking for more information.
What is the current bore, stroke, liter, year, block material, etc.?

Do you mean LS6 instead of LH6?

Its is a stock LH6, 05 year model, 5.3. Stroke has nothing to do with boring a block. The block is aluminum, not an iron block, if it was iron there would be no problem

The LH6 is the 5.3l aluminum block, iron sleeved version of the Gen III LM4 I believe. I think more information on it is best found in some of the Trailblazer/Envoy/Rainier forums. However, this link may help:

I think you can bore the LH6 all the way to a 5.7 liter. The sleeves are thicker than they are on LS1's and 6's.

Thanks for the replys, will keep that on hold as I just found a L33, will pick it up soon, but may be a while before I tear it down , still have to finish the LS2 in the 65 Abody, so many engines, not enough time. May want to sell all my early hemi engines????:usa:
