Car has a mild ported set of heads on it, and a 114 LSA cam. It has twin Comp 62mm oil-less turbos on it with a FMIC running 10 lbs of boost. I had some different turbos on it before, and the car made 587rwhp and a little less tq on 10 lbs. Now, I have the comp turbos on it and went back to the dyno expecting around the same numbers.
First run: 690rwhp/618tq
After I saw this I about pissed myself. Luckily, I had already changed the tune for higher VE and fixed the timing or I'm confident it would've left parts on the dyno. So, after reattaching the hose that blew off at the end of the first run, we tried again, only running to 5200rpm this time.
Second run: 590rwhp
Second run was already making 40 more hp at the same level as the last pull so I'm glad it wasnt' a full pull. I only have 60lb injectors and a single walbro 255. Guess it's time to upgrade to dual pumps?
I'm still alittle confused about how 10 lbs can make that kind of power... Boost was read through my gauge and the dyno.

Already in the process :) I'm certainly going to turn the boost down now that I know what it's making to help it survive a little longer! :cool:

The reason why you are making more power at the same PSI is because the new turbos are more efficient. They are probably pushing more CFM of air and heating it up less than your old ones did.

ball bearing turbos still require oil just a lower psi, im thinking maybe it runs some bad a$$ sealed bearing and grease maybe?

You guys haven't heard of oil-less turbos yet? They can be mounted in any orientation such as Vertical.

Nope hadnt heard of that piece of equipment yet. I would prefer a turbo with an oil feed though.

I made similar numbers on 9lbs. You just take the industry average if there is one, and do the math. Roughly 20rwhp per lb of boost. take 10 lbs and boom. anywhere between 550-600. your cam, lsa, and heads, really compliment this. my heads lifted, and my motor cracked. I am now about to have my forged lq9 in from the vendor here real soon. should be good up to over 1100 although im not going that high. I want it to live a long happy life.

nah man but its pretty sweet especially if you need tight fitment no room for oil lines/ blocks

Yes, it runs 3 ceramic ball bearings. It uses a high-temp grease that's supposed to only need servicing around 20K miles. You do have to send it to them to do it but it's $85.
Now, the odd thnig about my dyno is, I did have the turbos on before, and in scanning on 10lbs, the log never got higher than 130kPa. I sent the turbos in to have them checked out, and put them back on when they got back. Now they're making a lot more on the same psi and everything? Seems strange to me...
I told you why. Replumbing the cooling circuit to the other turbo kept the heat and drag down.

10psi of boost on a higher compression motor will make more power than 10psi on a lower compression motor. Stock shortblock, with just cleaned up heads sounds like you're in the low 10s for compression ratio.
Impressive results, just be careful. Stock pistons/rings are a recipe for disaster with boost.

Per BaldTurboFreak, Boost is only a measurement of restriction and that includes the back pressure between the exhaust valve and the turbine outlet. Higher flowing exhaust wheel and A/R have that effect.
