Drag Racing Tech - Wiring up a MSD 2 step in 99 Camaro???

Need a little help,

I understand how it works and I have installed the 2 step. I ran a wire into the car.

However I want to hook it up to the clutch switch and a push button switch on my shift.

Do I use the ground from the MSD box or the 12V wire???

On the clutch switch the lower switch has a green wire and a purple with white strip, which wire do I splice into before running to my push button?

I tested both wire with a test light and either showed power. I had the key on and the clutch pushed down, do I need to try to completely start the car before it the wires show power?

Well I did some more research....

Looks like I need to use the blue ground wire from the MSD box to my push button then splice it into the purple/white wire on my clutch pedal.


Can anyone confirm this???

Yup thats how I have mine wired up.
Works perfect.
Tap the purple/white wire on the switch, and hook up the solid blue wires on the box

I did this today and my 2-step still did not disconnect until I let go of the button. Shouldn't it stop woring whn I let the clutch out???
