So I got a ticket today on the way home from work. 78 in a 55 (it was not long after it dropped from a 65 to 55). Anyway, the fine on the ticket is $260! That seems crazy high to me. I just moved from Ohio so I'm not sure, but does that fine seem excessive to anyone else?

Doesn't seem excessive to me as you were going 23 over the limit. Doesn't that classify as exhibition of speed or reckless driving as far as the ticket goes?

I got a 107$ ticket for 110mph in a 55, cop lowered it to 20 over. Real nice guy

Actually, that's prob right on considering how everything has gone up in price these days.

He didn't mark reckless or anything else on the ticket, just speeding. 3ish years ago I had a 30mph over ticket in Ohio and it was like $150. Maybe fines have gone up, or just more in Colorado.

I was just in Colorado, its either do 20 over of gtfo... I was coming down the mountain doing 73 in a 55 and the cop let me go and pulled over a car 10 or so behind me. But Denver sucks to drive in.

That's cheap. My exhaust tickets in ca were about that. Much rather pay co fines than ca fines.
