Appearance & Detailing - This bother anyone else?

after spending all afternoon cleaning car, inside and out inclding a good waxing it seems that people just love to get there finger prints all over my nice shiney black paint. this pisses me off to an extream also makes me mad when people lean aganist my car. sorry just had to rant about it. anyone else feel the same ? :mad:

Pick up some of that quick detailer spray and a microfiber and you can fix that problem in the same about of time it took to notice it. It's pretty handy stuff for a quick touch here and there.

You too huh? Last week i woke up to the sound of my car's certain death and the lawn covered in balls of hail.. luckly they were only dime sized and didn't do much damage but yeah, i definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day..

South East as well. You didn't hear that thunderstorm? :confused: I did wake up around 9:30 and it stopped. but if it's strong enough to wake me up at 6 AM i knew it was a big one. No damage. There's so much wax on my car it would take Hurricane Katrina to put a scratch on it.

Hail when was this, it has been 80 and sunny all day, i agree i keep detail spray n a microfiber in the car at all times,

I hate it so much. After washing/waxing, if anyone needs a ride or if my gf rides with me, I have to open the passenger door and close it for them. People don't know how to open doors, I can't stand when they open it and put their finger prints around the damn door handles to get in and when they put their hands on the window to close the door when they get out.

This happened to me a few years back in austins big storm. NEVER ONCE parked the car out of the garage, friend wanted to go to the book store so i figured, hey let the neighbors stare at it while im gone "i never leave it outside"

On our way back fucking SOFTBALL sized hail. it was big enough to bounce off the car and dent the garage door.

Shattered front windshield, busted both back quarterpanels and both headlight covers.

2600 in repairs, insurance said it was the most expensive 6 dents he'd ever seen.

I just hate the fact that on my dark colored car it seems to get a layer of dust like no other.

I simple give a "hey what the fuck are you thinking" with a slight hand gesture to get off my car.
Anyone that has been around me even 1 time and my car though knows not to touch it, period. I don't even like people riding in it.

The birds have a GPS tracking for when you finish your car. They will find you the moment you take the last drop of water off the finish.

Google provides them with satellite information.

This is all I do. No real point to get up tight about it because if someone doesn't do it, then Mother Nature sure as hell will so I just buy the stuff to take care of it. Yes, it does get on my nerves but hey, what can you do really?

Always the way. You can tell when people have nice cars by the following:

If they see shiny paint and want to feel if its clay bar'd and waxed they gently rub the back of their hand across the paint. (doesnt leave any marks)

I did some renovations in my garage one winter and my NBM got pretty dusty. two of my friends thought it was hilarious to write some twilight (the movie, never seen it, don't know what they were talking about) references in the dust all over my car.

I had a case of the comeaparts. they had to leave. they're not car people, but come on, what the hell. who does that shit? luckily the car has about an inch of zaino on it and it was fine.

Awesome thread, i just got into a fight with my wife the other day, i had just finished washing the car, and we ending up going somewhere and i specifically told her not to roll down the window..... SHE ROLLED IT DOWN... and i was a little pissed. Maybe i took it to an extreme... lol

its somthing thats so simple to understand, our cars look nice for a reason. and for them to look nice it takes time and money. dont touch it!!!!!!!!!! im glad to see im not the olny one to get mad about this kinda stuff tho

If they don't know how to treat my car I probably don't know their last name, let alone be on a relationship status.

Before I had gotten my Firebird, I had a black Saturn Sky Redline and had a crazy ex-girlfriend that would stalk me.
I had trained said ex-girlfriend to NEVER touch the damn door when she closed it.
She knew I was seeing someone else because of the finger prints on the door.

On a different note, oh man do I love having a white Firebird. So long as no one touches it, it always looks clean!

It probably also helps that my paint is complete ****, but I'll be repainting it within the next month to a metallic pearl white.

I hate it when people smoke around my car. I was at a car show a few years back and this older redneck guy was talking to his buddy around my car smoking. I just went up beside them and farted really loud. Didn't take long for them to leave.

Awww I had the same problem with my black bird again my dad owning a body shop I always keep my car clean and what he told me was true all dark colors especially black is the hardest color to keep clean thats just the way it is but black looks really good he told of I didn't want to deal with dirt often he told me to paint the car to a light color white or silver then get dirty too but they tend tohide it more and less noticiable dirt on the car

In high school there was a group of us that parked beside me that would hang out after school in the parking lot. This douchebag that has alwas got on my nerves used to sit on the front bumper cover of my v6 firebird. He would always get there before me. After countless times, I finally walked out one day and yelled at him and said get the fuck off my car dude. After that he never did it again lol.

My car seems to attract cats with dirty paws. It always happens the day after I wash it too..

I feel your pain. People's general lack of concern for anything that isn't their own (and sometimes not even then) is a shame.

Right after i got my car it got egged 2 nights in a row. Turns out it was some punk kids i had ran at the drag strip the week bbefore. Yes charges were pressed

Same boat here. I put a tarp on my car while in the garage because we have cats. There are proper door opening procedures, proper ways you set your feet and keep them on the floormatts, keep your hands in your lap type procedures when riding in the vehicle..etc...

Lived in Washington my entire life, you get used to it. Very annoying though. I remember I waxed my friends 500whp RSX and he said drive it to school and show off. I spent 5 hours waxing this car the might before by hand I might add, and 10 mins after I pull it out of the garage and almost at school. Starts dumping. -____-.

Fingerprints on the black paint are bad enough. But hell, I came out of a take out place a few years ago and 7, yes SEVEN uh, foreigners were sitting on the front of my el camino. They might not have understood the words, bit i think they got the tone in my voice. Then a few months ago, Parked in my carport under a cover, a cat took a crap under the cover on the hood. It smeared down the hood & onto my 2010 camaro nose fascia.I own a cat cage now,cat lovers don't ask.
To end this thread on a happier note, when I repainted my new el camino tailgate with 4 vette lites& buffed to perfection, My wife said it was so pretty I should keep it in the living room for a while. Even women & their living room can be won over by a perfect , clean, unfingerprinted,unscratched black paint job.:lol:
