i think the nt555's are garbage but thats me. the svede is a good cai smart choice there. so idk if you were dead set on one of those i would go with the svede over the tires unless you decided to pick a better set of tires lol

I was decided on the svede actually but ive had nittos many times in the past and they have always been great in my opinion. Good performnace with good treadwear. Everybodys different though i guess in terms of what they like. Im actually getting these for street use. Dont have a track where i live and dont get to the track that often so slicks are really not important to me.

i miss my nittos on my GTO. it greatly reduced wheelhop though i never tried a serious launch but they served their purpose.

I got some nittos on mine NTO05R, they hook up good for me,but I am switching to M/T drags. Good luck on your choice.

thx. yeah i dont want to spend mickey money since my cars just a dd. I will get more aggressive with it. I have plans for full boltons and hopefully a cam. Low 12's is the goal. Thats about as much as i really will do with it while its my daily driver. Once its paid off then who knows

My suggestion is to look for a pair of used rims and mount sticky tires on those and only use that set-up for the track.

I would do that and have done it in the past. For me though its honestly not worth it. We dont have a track where I live and I dont get to the tracks often at all. Maybe once or twice a year if that. If they opened up a track where I lived I would do that for sure

In that case I would just stick with street radials unless your car is not a d/d.

I've had the 555's and have the NT05's now. I hated the 555's. The NT05 are, meh. IMO, I would get the intake.

Nittos. Unless you like having that much money tied up for months on end waiting for a Svede. Personally Id make a Vararam work on your 04 like Im going to

Nitto's are useless. At least with the svede you will get something out of it.

The non drag radial 555s are good street tires for a d/d.

With my bolt-on/tune A4 LS2, the 555's would melt away from a low speed roll, and spin so bad through the 1-2 shift that the back end would get sideways and I would have to lett off the gas. I guess if your just driving it like a Camry, then yeah they would probably be o.k. To me, they where dangerous if applying any good amount of throttle.

what about a vararam intake? I heard the SS intake is on like 2-3 month wait now or something

I've just recently got re-involved with the intake to help get things caught up. I'm having a bunch sent to me right now. By this time next week we should be caught up to 4 weeks ago and then I'll start whittling that down.

Think i am going with the svede intake. Spencer said it was about a 2-3 week timeframe to receive the intake which is not bad at all. I know there was a real bad backlog as stated above but seems like that will be fixed. Thx for the input everyone. Nittos will probably be my next mod after the svede

I actually just looked at my tires, I know the owner before me said something about nitto and looked and they ended up being the 555s. They are a pretty decent tire

You want a great tire, give the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec a try

I would completely skip the NT555 and if you need tires go for the NT05. They're a much better tire. I think you need to ask yourself if it's time to buy tires, or if you have more money to go fast.

I havent tried the nt05's. Def be open to those. Have to look at the treadlife on them though. Car is still my daily and i dont want to buy tires every year. Going to do the intake first then tires hopefully in a month or two

I've had NT05's on my Z for almost 10k miles now and they still have another 4-5k left in them I think. The NT555's don't last much longer than the NT05's either. I had the NT555's on my GTO.

Nitto NT555s lasted over 30K on my mustang.

That is good news. I can wait to see what the intake does on my 421 stroker. I have tried the homemade 4" intake and really want to see how this does.
