Default 4.56's in a 10 BOLT questions

First off I realize it's a huge gear and way too much for a stock 10-bolt haha, with that out of the way I would just like to know if anyone is running these in a 6-speed car and what was needed for the install. I keep reading about a "paddle kit" needed for 4.10 installs in 99 and up F-body cars but have no idea if I will need one for a set of gears this large. Any info would be appreaciated from anyone running 4.56's in a stock 10-bolt. Thanks

Yes,you will need a modified paddle or SLP paddle with 4.56s'. I ran 4.56s' with an A4 for 4 years.

Thanks for your input, I can't find an SLP paddle kit anywhere so I hope my install guy knows how to modify the paddle that's already in it. What exactly has to be done to modify it?

Alright I'll be doing the mod to my own paddle but Back up top with one more question, those of you who did it, which part number 4.56 gear did you use? I see a bunch on summit's website for 3 series carrier but have no clue if they all work for our cars, it mentions 27 spline pinion, is that what the stock rear is?

that's pretty cool! I didn't even know they made 4.56 for the 7.5 10 bolt

I love my 4.10s tho, but i wouldn't mind trying a 4.56 later on
