Florida Members - Close to Impossible ( sail panel removal )

removed the sail panel from a 98 z28 today ..this is to replace my panel thats all bubbled and nasty.. wasnt the hardest thing in the world but was definitely a challenge to say the least ... process took roughly about 2 hours start to finish .... i must thank my buddy philsblwnz28 and my buddy justin for all the help

what did you do to get it off? never thought much about it but seems to me like you could probably use a piece of piano wire or something similar (like and old style windshield removal tool) and run it across there and cut the adhesive

heatgun ... lol lots of heat and i couldnt find piano wire thats what i was going to use .... so i used the next best thing i went out and bought guitar wire

its ironic how the the sail panels from 93-97 never really had issues just the 98 and up !!! The ones from the 93-97 were a different material !!! I have replaced mine on my 98 twice already and it stays in the garage !

It was the 99 and up that had the bad glue on the sail panels .93-98 were glued with the good glue.But maybe a few 98s got the bad glue aswell .My 98s sail panel is perfect .

I heard they fixed the issue for '02 and my car is fine, not bubbling at all.

Theres also this fix which isn't bad for the price
