I'm the original owner of a 1996 Z-28. The car was my DD for a few years during the summer months, never driven in winter. Since I've retired, I don't drive it all that much, and even though I still enjoy tinkering with it, it's beginning to slide into the "taking up space" category.

It's a coupe, black, with the dark grey leather interior, automatic tranny, A/C, cruise, power windows and mirrors, and 76,000 miles. The OE radio was replaced with a Pioneer HU and Infinity speakers. The body is in pretty good shape, except for a small crack in the lower part of the drivers door, when I had a case of "brain fade" as I was backing in the garage, and bumped the lawn mower. The paint is also pretty good, but like all the "flexible bumper cars", the bumpers have some "spiderwebbing". The interior is in excellent condition.

Mechanically, the car is excellent. I installed a set of Koni shocks and Strano springs a couple of years ago, and all of the suspension bushings are fairly fresh, as well as all 4 ball joints. It also has an aluminum driveshaft and an adjustable torque arm. The Opti is about 2 years old, as is the fuel pump (it got noisy, so I replaced it). I put a set of Intro 17", 5 spoke wheels and Fuzion tires on it about 3500-4000 miles ago.

I'm not in any dire need to sell it, but I have another car, as well as a 4x4 that I drive in the winter, and the garage seems to be getting smaller and smaller every year. If I were to sell it, what does the community here think would be a fair price?

TIA!

Hmmm, somehow I missed this post originally. Sounds like you have maintained the car well and it would make a wonderful car for someone with many miles left on the drivetrain. If it truly doesn't need any serious work I would ask in the $6,500 - $7,000 range and settle for around $6,000. I think you could get it the way you describe it. There are many owners/dealers that ask much higher prices for these LT1 cars but I don't believe they get much more than that, unless the miles are much lower or an SS or convertible (which brings more $$), something like this:

Thanks for the feedback...I was thinking along that price line, and probably wouldn't let it go for any less. As I said, I don't need to sell it, but I only put about 6-700 miles a year on it, and the only real cost to me is insurance and registration. It's somewhat ironic that the car you mentioned that's on Auto Trader is located about 30-35 miles from me....
