I recently bought a 2001 camaro SS that originated out of Harrodsburg, KY. The LS1 has an MS4 cam, BBK intake, 85mm throttle body, long tube headers, no cats, and magnaflow exhaust system. The car runs very strong but runs way rich at idle and is blowing bluish black smoke under hard acceleration. The gentleman I bought the car from said the car has 8,000 miles since the mods. I think the tune was done wrong, washed the rings, and now the engine has ring problems. Bluecat in Kentucky did the tune and I've read alot of positive feeds on them. Has anybody had this type of problem with an LS1?

Blue smoke is burning oil. a good test to do tho and what im thinking it is is a faulty PCV system. the hoses always fall apart on these cars and they dump excess oil into the intake anyways. Buy an EBAY catch can for like 20 bucks and install it in between the driver valve cover and the intake with a pcv valve before the catch can and then plug the rear vacuum port on the passenger side. this should catch any excess oil that gets caught in the intake and burns.

i would also get a compression bleed test to check if your losing compression in your cylinders.
