Can you elaborate a bit more on why you need the steam line and how it connects at the other end?

There are no coolant passages in the sides of the heads like the Gen 1 sbc..Coolant, air bubbles or steam stuck up in the top of the motor needs to go somewhere the vent allows for trapped air to escape back into the system..and it simply connects via a barbed fitting epoxied into the tube in the radiator hose.. some motors don't have this tho.. its a simple setup...

Where does the other end connect for the steam vent? I mean where on the motor?

There are tubes that connect between the heads in the front... the driverside will have it sticking up about 3 inches.. Some engines actually didnt have a vent.. just a spider type connection that linked all four corners of the motor together.. if you have this setup you don't need a steam vent
