New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - I have a few problems with my Camaro.

The car in question is a 1998 Camaro Z28. Mods include a K&N air filter and the Free Ram Air Mod. It's a automatic with about 163K miles, everything is all original as far as I know (minus plugs, wires, and most fluids).

The first problem I'm having is my interior and exterior lights flicker a lot, to the point it's noticeable to oncoming drivers even. When they're doing this my battery volt gauge is fluctuating too (just enough to see it move), but no higher than any other LS1 I've seen.

My second problem is I've developed a slight stutter at WOT. It doesn't feel like a misfire but it's definitely noticeable to me. It's just kind of sluggish, not really skipping. I know my fuel pump is on it's way out, but I don't know if that's a possible cause or not. The only other thing I can think of is one of my plug wires didn't get changed during my tune-up because one of the new ones was missing the prong.

Any help, suggestions or ideas is greatly appreciated guys! :burn:

As far as I know, yes. Almost everything is original. I'll have it checked into, thanks!

The voltage issue sounds like a failing alternator. That would be my first guess.

The WOT power loss could be a number of things, but if you already know that the fuel pump is weak then I would probably start there before replacing anything else, since it needs it anyway. If it's not able to provide enough fuel at WOT, then it will most certainly cause power loss.

If you had a bad plug wire, you'd have a misfire and likely a P0300 and P030x code.

No code(s), but I can feel it's sluggishness at WOT for sure. It's unmistakable.

I think you should change the oil, it helped me once.
