Default Clunking in Front End Any Ideas

My car had a bad drivers side tie rod, hubby changed it out but we did not buy the oem replacement. Ever since it seems that if i hit a bump or break hard theres a loud clunking noise coming from front end. Ive had two shops look into this and neither could find anything. Thought it was the break pads so i had new brakes installed this weekend and its still doing it. Is it possible that its the rack? Has anyone else ever experienced this? I am wondering if i should just go buy the Moog tie rod and if that may actually be the issue? Any sugestions?
