Default 3rd Gen F-Body 6L90E Install

I've been mocking up a 6L90E transmission into a 1991 Trans Am and think the transmission just might fit without cutting the floor. It's a tight fit for sure, but it looks like the biggest issue is the depth of the oil pan. What are my options for a shallow pan? The 6L90E pictured was pulled from a 2011 Silverado 2500.

Notice in the last image how low the pan is from the floor. I'd like to get a crossmember in there and bring the car down to the ground to measure clearance from the floor.

There are a couple of threads on here where people have modified a shallower 6L80E pan to fit the 6L90E transmission. Basically you have to weld material on to the rear of the 6L80E pan so that it extends far enough to be able to drill news holes that line up with the 6L90E pan holes. As to pans I believe one from the Pontiac G8 and I believe a version of the Cadillac pan will work. Hopefully others with more knowledge will chime in here.

Here is a link to one such thread with the modification. I know there is at least one more thread.

Cool

VERY cool, can't wait to see how this turns out... If it's not too difficult, I'd consider swapping out my T-56 for one of these!
