I am putting an L92/6L80 into a 1965 Buick Skylark. I am thinking about the TU/TD paddle shift function. It appears that the purple wire comming from the transmission harness(6L80 pin 7) is the wire that controls this function.

So, if I use this wire and use momentary switches how to you hook it up. Does one momentary switch go to ground and maybe the other to +12V?

One more go around to see if there is any new information on how to hook up the Corvette style paddle shifter. I saw one post about using resistors with different ohm values for the up-shifts and downshifts.

However this may have been for a body ECM as a terminus. The 2009 Escalade harness I am using does not have the purple wire coming off of pin 7 of the 6L80E connector. I am going to have to add it in and bring the wire to up under the dash. Then once I have the information I will hook it up.

I am planning on a momentary contact console mounted toggle up-toggle down for the 6L80 I am putting in my 03 Sonoma behind an L76 truck engine. So far I have not found the harness connector available anywhere, but the toggle wiring is supposed to be straight forward.

Trying to remember but I ran across a drawing showing the purple wire with two resistors attached to it. On one side it went through the resistor to a switch and then 12v. The other side went through a resistor than a switch than to ground. Something like that but there were no values to the resistors.

I might just may wind up buying a floor shifter that comes with all the goodies in it. The TUTD idea is way down on my list of things to do for my conversion. I will get back on it down the road.

I think you will need the Body controler, I'm doing somthing like that and also cruise.

For me it is something I will look into once the car is on the road. It is not high on my priority list as there are mixed reviews concerning the use of the TUTD feature. Twist Machine makes a conversion kit for those that are interested.

I will see how my 2011 Corvette program works. I did run the wire into the cabin area incase I want to use paddle shifters. Thank you for the information.

Anyone use a regular switch? The paddles will not work in my application for several reasons

I think Speartech sells a switch that will work with the TUTD feature.
