Generation III External Engine - 98-99 exhaust manifolds vs - 02'ish manifolds - size difference?

I have a 2002 Camaro that I purchased some turbo plumbing for. The passenger side of the plumbing connects to "a factory LS1 fbody exhaust manifold". I no longer have my factory manifolds and will have to buy one for the passenger side. Before I do, I wanted to know if the overall geometry of the manifold changed over the years because if so, it might affect what I need for this plumbing. I've seen pictures of the 2 manifolds side by side, and there are slight shape differences, but I couldn't tell if the flange would be in a different spot between the two types. Would you be able to pop a 98 manifold in place of a 2002 and connect it to the same factory Y pipe with no fitment issues?

Thanks!

the pass side is definitely different between 99 and 01+. not sure of 00. i replaced my manifolds with ones off an 01 car and had to have the y altered on the pass side in order for it to work. i believe the newer manifold exits farther down than the older one, but don't quote me on that.

i believe their is a slight difference between the two stock manifolds the 98-00 have egr provisions on the passenger side 01-02 have no egr

98-99 manifolds are the same and the 00-02 are almost the same. The 98-99 use different cats and Y-pipe than the 00-02. Either will bolt up the the motor.
The simple answer to your question is No.

Wasn't some years stainless tubing and other cast?

Yes 98 & 99 were tubing and the others were cast.

The 01-02 Manifolds still have the bosses for the EGR, they are just not drilled/machined to bolt up the EGR pieces to.

Thanks LS, I knew there was something about them.

I think advantage to 98/99 manifolds for being a bit lighter in weight and perhaps the internals being smoother.
