This guy with a fox body at work as been talking all kinds of crap and wants to race. My mods are in my sig. He has a stock lower end 302, cam, gt-40 heads, 5-speed, and 3.73 gears. He is talking about adding 100 shot of n2o also for the race. He wants 4 cars. What do you guys think?? I might have alittle something extra for him as well. :secret2:

I asked this just about identical question not to long ago about a car around here. I'm thinking everyone said around 240rwhp with a 100 shot your looking at 310ish. Either way 4 cars is alot to make up for but you being automatic and him a stick. If you can hook and he can't that 4 cars can easily be made up if your moving and hes not. If your spraying give him the 4 and you'll still slaughter him IMO.

If his car is built like the ones around here, it sounds like a complete turd. As in a high 12 second on a good day turd. Mid-low 12s on nitrous.
If he is running his mouth with his POS does he need lengths? Tell him to run what he brung and if he knows he needs a cheater start he isn't worth your gas.

Give him the 4 cars. You will still smoke them. It seems like every fox body owner has the same exact mods and they are all slow.

Tell him you will give him 7 car, and watch his face when you drive by him. If his car is a full weight fox, you should have no problem pulling 7 cars on him. If he has taken alot of stuff out then 4 is going to a run for the money. What power did you make? Is yours full weight?

sounds like you guys know a bunch of morons with fox mustangs lol...
the norm around here is heads/cam/intake/gears and a 100-150 shot and BOOM they go bottom 11's-10's
be careful what you wish for with this race!
even worse...i know a 4.6 auto with longtube headers, cold air intake and gears. goes bottom 13 on motor, high 11 on a 125 shot.
spot that 4 cars with your 11.76 and see how well it works for you. lol

I always hear about those magic head/cam foxes, but have yet to see one.
I was under the impression the gt40 heads weren't very good in the first place...

nah they arent great...but are they really gt-40's?
know your enemy people. nothing worse than getting told something you cant confirm because you dont know what it is.
and i hope you guys dont think i am a ford sympathasizer...far from it. i just dont like seeing a fellow ls owner get blindsided.

GT40 heads are marginally better than the E7 302 heads. The question is what intake is he running? Standard HO intake or the GT40 upper and lower? Most Fox GTs and Coups I have seen with that set up put down right at 300hp. They run 13.2-12.8 in the 1/4, add the 100 shot and they hit mid 11s. Tell him no dice on the 4 cars.

Thanks for all the input. I am pretty sure his car is full weight. Has aftermarket upper and lower intake, exhaust and the rest of the bolt-ons and he has it getting tuned right now and says that it is 357rwhp but that seems really high(just like most mustang guys). My car is full weight also. 409rwhp not including my "insurance" that I have been working on. We are racing on the track so traction shouldn't be an issue but I keep talking him up like he is so fast but I am not really worried to much about it. I will make sure to post up a video and times when we race

Notch or hatchback? If hatchback is it a gt?
Either way its still lighter than your car and not making all that much less hp.

It's a hatchback and a lx. Should be a fun race

If you spray, game over no matter what. Spot him the four and hit it with a 150 hit in 2nd gear.

The aftermarket intake setup he has will put him at a little over 300HP at the tires. He won't put down 357HP NA without a set of TrickFlow TrackHeat heads or their equivilant and a really radical cam. At the strip from a dig heads up you have him covered NA like you were clubbing a baby seal. He may give you a race on the juice though, so add a 150 shot of your own and spray him like a cockroach.

does he have a cam in it as well? i am very well versed in foxes so here is my take. 357hp n/a(i assume its rwhp) is retarded with gt40 irons.....they do make aluminum versions through ford racing so that could be possible that way but with ALOT of work done
i would bet he has irons, probably stock cam and a 100 shot on it making 357rwhp. very fair number there imo. now as far as at the track on good tires and if he can drive decent thats probably right about your 11.76 if he hooks maybe a hair faster.
imo find out more on his setup so you can get a better judge of his power.
