I saw a 1995 Red Trans AM sitting on a local dealers lot. Interior is a hard 10 out of 10 but the exterior has faded clear on the driver door, paint chips on the hood and bumper and the bump guards are faded and paint worn. Has 101xxx on the clock and is an M6. The guy has it listed for 5995. I think it is highly over priced personally-considering it needs a lot of exterior work. what do you guys think?

Pics or STFU.

As for the interior being 10/10 in a 17 year old car. you must be smoking crack, lemme get a hit of that.

Off hand it sounds too high. I also question your rating system. 10 out of 10 is not realistic unless the car was restored to 'showroom' condition. Age and use takes it's toll on a 100,000 miles car. My 1 owner 29,000 miles T/A is a show car but honestly is a 9 of 10 interior. It isn't 'showroom' 10 of 10 anymore. Step back and reassess the car again so you can relay a proper picture. What else does this car need? You know it needs mechanical work as well. It has to. This car in 'fair' condtion isn't worth anything much over $4,000 and that might be pushing it. Probably worth less from the exterior situation you described. You must figure you have to put in a few grand over the next two years. Buying it for $4,000 might bring you up to $6,000 real quick which is OK if you really like the car. Every car depreciates but you don't want to have $8,000+ into an old LT1 with 6 figures on the odometer. Still need a lot more info because there are exceptions. What if this car was a one-owner where the owner had to keep the car outside all the time yet it was maintained very well with very few issues? That could make a big difference compared to a 5 owner car that needs lots of maintenance and work on top of paint. Best of luck!

I'll take my rating for the interior down to a 9/10 but it blew me away by how clean it was. cleaner than most, a 110lb person must of sat in it for its entire life. but ya, I felt it was over priced considering I paid 7,000 for my old 1998 T/A and it had 85xxx when I got it. I don't think this guy will come to his senses he said he only gets about 2 a year so he thinks he can charge excellent condition price for a car that needs 1k in body work (if not more).

Ya I feel the same way. If I save up 5k I might as well wait a month till I have enough for a decent LS1. They guy I sold my motorcycle is coming Saturday to square up so I'll have 4k cash. Maybe I'll stop by and see what he says. Didn't even get to test drive, the guy wants the money or at least a deposit first..All the signs are pointing towards don't make a deal with this guy! lol!
