Ok so here is my build I've been working on since September. All of this should be on my 2000 SS M6 by May 20th...

2000 SS M6
Stock 853 Heads
Comp Cam 224/224 .581 112LSA XER Lobes
LS6 Oil Pump
Cloyes Timing Chain Set
Trick Flow 7.425" Pushrods
Comp 918 Springs
FLP Long Tube Headers with Catted FLP Y-pipe
SLP Dual/Dual
SLP Lid
P&P Potz TB & MAF ends
SLP Linelock
MSD 8.5mm wires
NGK BR7EF Plugs (For Nitrous)
75 wet fogger shot
Motive 4.10's
Founders LCA relocation brackets and LCA's
Founders Panhard Relocation & Upper PH Bar
BMR Subframe Connectors
Mcleod Clutch Master Cylinder
160 TStat
eBay Short Throw on stock Hurst
Nitto NT555's 285/40/17
Frost Tune after its all in...

So I'm thinking my main choking point in my build is my LS1 intake.... So I'm thinking I'll probably get an LS6 or should I go $200 more for a FAST 78? Fast 90's and 102's are like $1000 and out of the question as of now... What else am I forgetting. Thanks.

PS - I would love to make a sub 12 sec. quarter pass and 400+ whp

Weak link imo is the intake like you said. The FAST 102 is overpriced but it does make power, can't deny that. If you get a FAST, might as well get the 102 or get the LS6 for now and save for the 102, then sell the LS6.

Heads, get those heads worked by a company like AI or get a set of 243's and then get those worked by AI.

If you've got a good clutch and sticky tires, your rear end might need some work as your HP and TQ goes up.

Again, this is just my opinion. Good luck with your build bro.

^^Like he said get a FAST intake, I'm not sure what kind of clutch you have, just make sure its a pretty strong clutch, I would recommend a RAM HD clutch to be safe, that clutch can handle quite a bit of power, good drivability too..

ls6 intake and a rear because more hp and tq u have the closer the weak link gets in these cars the crappy 10 bolt

also consider a bbk or a weiand intake.you won't make 400 hp with that cam,it only takes 380 hp with a great chassis set up to run 11s.if the heads are off look for some 243/799 heads .if you don't have the cam yet consider a custom cam that will pass the emissions and make good power.

I wouldn't bother with the 853's. Most of them have a pry notch on The deck surface which limits you to stock graphite gaskets.

Look into 243/799 ls6's or 862/706 5.3 heads and send them off to be ported.

I would get an intake on the car asap. Should open it up quite a bit.

Next up would be a rear end in my opinion

Well like everyone said I went ahead and just bought this LS6 off the classifieds. It is going to be a beautiful addition to the build, can't wait. And it's plumbed to run a 150 shot. Can my stock LS1 Injectors run with this intake, I'm aware I'm probably at the point I should look into injectors now too huh?

Good. FAST 90 or 102 would have been a waste of money without a bigger maf and a bigger lid.

Are you sure that is an ls6? I thought that all ls6 intakes came without an egr port, looks like that one is just sealed with an expansion plug?

A fast intake works fine with a stock sized maf and lid...still better than an ls6.

That better be an LS6, cost me a good chunk of $$$

Is the bottom flat or does it have a bulge down the middle?

I though that is how the Vette ones were? But I don't know shit about ls6 manifolds.

+1 to all the guys saying rear end. M6 will toast that rear even on stock power.
