Stereo & Electronics - Should I re-vinyl my Subthump box?

I used to have a '96 Firebird, with the charcoal interior. I bought a Subthump T-top box for that car, and it came in matching vinyl color. My current '02 Trans Am has the tan interior, but it has charcoal accents. I did a test fit after modifying the cutout for the hatch latch, since I guess it is larger on the newer models. I'm not sure if I should stick with the charcoal, or change it to tan. I have a picture below, it was just a test fit and I don't have anything in the car yet, but I'd just like some opinions. Thanks!

well with that black TRANS AM carpet thing, I would get some more black carpet and do the box and the face going down where you see the tan carpet in matching black carpet.

I don't think it looks bad as-is. As you mentioned you have charcoal accents as it is.

BTW, yes 99+ they changed the rear latch a bit - and it doesn't work as well :jest: I noticed on mine that it pops up higher when released than my 98 did, but it tends to not fully unlatch. I know there is a spring mod that will fix that.

Yeah, the one and only time I had my dog in the car he got it filthy, I put the rear seat down to give him a little more room and he kept trying to get into the front. Never again, he hated it anyways because it was too loud for him. Made up my mind that I will be keeping my winter car on the road all year long...

The more I look at it, the more I don't mind the look. I'm hoping to get everything installed this weekend, but I've been saying that for the past few weekends. One day it'll get installed... ;)

Subthump FTW. One of the best boxes I have ever owned. Wish I hadn't sold mine. The vinyl looks fine IMO since you have the accents to match.
